The nef Symposium Announcement

As part of our initiatives in commemoration of our 5th year anniversary, we launched the norrenberger entrepreneurship fund (nef) on Thursday 12th October 2023 at the prestigious Johnwood by Bolton Hotel in Abuja

The norrenberger entrepreneurship fund (nef) is an initiative of Norrenberger that is aimed at empowering young aspiring entrepreneurs to bring their innovative ideas to fruition in their startups or business journeys.

The launch symposium themed: ’’ Investing in Nigerian Youth to Drive Entrepreneurship: Opportunities and Challenges”, featured a fireside chat where Industry leaders and entrepreneurship experts , Ms. Chioma Ome Country Director, Solar Sister; Dr. Olawale Anifowose. Director of Programs, Enterprise Development Centre of the Lagos Business School; Dr Vanessa Phala. Director International Labour Organisation (ILO); Mr. Tony Edeh. GMD/CEO, Norrenberger; and Mr. Alu Oryiman Principal Enterprise Officer, SMEDAN shed light on the issue at hand, proffered solutions to the challenges faced and reiterated the need for public private partnerships to ensuring Nigerian Youths were given capital, mentoring and business knowledge to succeed as entrepreneurs.

Aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals 1 – No Poverty and 8 – Decent Work & Economic Growth. The nef represents a significant milestone for us as we strive to contribute to the growth of the economy and job creation by supporting budding entrepreneurs in various sectors.

Our Objectives

Support Entrepreneurial Journey

The nef is established to assist youth corps members in kickstarting their entrepreneurial journey. The nef will identify, support, and train about 2000 corps members with business knowledge by the year 2030 to achieve their goals.

Create Direct & Indirect Jobs

The nef will provide access to funding to youth corps members that will create about 10,000 direct and indirect jobs by the year 2030.

Private Sector Support

The nef is a private sector support of government efforts in driving youth empowerment and sustainable economic growth.

The nef grants to be made available to National Youth Service Corps members who participate and come tops in a business idea pitching competition will spur entrepreneurship spirit and drive.

The nef is aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals 1 and 8 (UN SDGs 1 & 8) – No Poverty and Decent Work/Economic Growth, which includes:

End poverty in all its form
fostering sustained and inclusive economic growth.
Full and productive employment
Decent work for all
